I have a 10 gallon tank and one turtle. It has about 6 gallons of water in it. I have http://www.petsmart.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2752295 in the ten gallon size and http://www.petsmart.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2752610 with brand new filters and all that jazz, water conditioner and a poop degrader thing yet the tank gets so dirty and nasty after 2-3 days. What the hell am I doing wrong
It doesn't stink though, luckily! It is pretty scentless, just really murky and icky.

Thank you! That was a helpful website. Went to a store yesterday to get a new filter as the ones we had were more suited for fish apperantly and when we went to ask there was a couple there with turtles and they were nice. Apperantly he is growing too, making his skin and shell flake making it nasty and clog up the filters. Gross thing.
Stupid thing is getting so expensive. He needs a bigger tank, better filters... eats like a maniac... except for vegetables which I was told he would eat... but of course he doesn't eat those, those are cheap. I got him cuz I thought he would be cheap and zero work, what a load that was.
Since his tank is too small I let him crawl around the house and outside alot... though I have to watch him cuz he's a fast fucker and bolts to the neighbors first chance he gets. And is always trying to get behind the tv and the computers, where all the cords are... Got a genius idea from a buddy
Oh, now I'm showing off
