I'm really intrested in getting a Tortoise. Does anyone have one? Are they easy to care for?

It would mainly be kept in the house if we get one :)

What are your motives for investing in one?

Personally, I don't see the appeal.

One feel of the shell and I'm kinda done with them.

I do think they'd be awesome pets but I can't guarantee access to a private garden, so I don't think I'd ever get one. Maybe when I'm a proper grown up.

I think there really sweet...and I can't have a dog atm so a tortoise is my second choice :)

I know they won;t be really easy and if it hibernates you have to do that but I've had a quick read and it doesn't seem too hard!

My friend has one so I shall be quizzing her about her's when I next see her. Just wanted a few other opinions off people :)

I just got a turtle. It's close enough to a tortise in my ignorant mind :p He sits in a tank and I take him but but not for long because I get bored and he likes to crawl behind the couch and all by the mess of cords behind the tv and by the computers. Spastic bastard that likes my boyfriend but hates me :(

My sister has one. Tortoise shit is runny and smelly. It likes to chase the lawnmower. It climbs the steps into the house. It rams the dog if the dog is lying in it's way. It's not a T-rex, but I think it wants to be one. I shouldn't have let it watch "5000 BC".
