Alcohol + Horny = Flop!

Former MemberFormer Member Posts: 1,876,323 The Mix Honorary Guru
Situation:

you've met a guy and he's followed you home, you get in and start kissing, touching etc... he then goes to "put it in" and it goes floppy... TBH it never really got that hard in the first place... which would be down to the amount of alcohol you both consumed that night. = you give up and both go to bed.

he wakes up in the morning and is all huggy and holding your hand, when his friend rings he says he's with a beautiful girl and is having fun and will be home later...

would that not sound to you like he liked the girl?! the girl never heard from the guy again....

my question to you (advice sexperts) is, would the flop be enough of a reason to make you steer clear of a woman?!?!

A.

Sounds a bit wierd..maybe he was just embarrased at being such a flop in the bedroom (badumtish)

Yeh probably, he also probably went home and was like "I was shagging all night last night" to his mates. :thumb:

Meh, I've flopped many a time when being too drunk / tired / not up for it. Never that embarrassed by it, just tell her we'll do it later, which she often respects that I'm not desperate to fuck her asap. Then normally we'll end up fucking in the morning after I've sobered up.

Maybe you could text him and see what he's up to but don't mention what happened as he'll probably feel worse about it.

The first time this happened I was utterly battered on E, and I was like "WTFWTFWTFWTF?!?!?" as it had never happened before. Knocked my confidence for a short while before I figured it was down to the pills. It was with a really good friend of mine too, and she'd liked me for ages and she took it personally. Oops. Was sorted later that morning though. ;)

Happened a couple of times since, but I just laugh about it and either wait until I've come down a bit, or as said, just wait until the morning (same result, effectively).

why do you need to drink so much as to be unable to have sex? i find this to be such a disempowering and frankly humiliating thing for a guy. I'm sorry to sound so radical but men should not lose control over their ability to have sex. It's like valuing the feeling of being drunk more than that of having sex with a girl. Weird, no?
But then again this all boils down to my personal disgust of British drinking culture.
I know this isn't really a proper answer to the question but I just thought I'd provide you guys with a different perspective.

    Shit happens mate.

It's not like we're able to pick up a new girl every night, and I've never had a failure with a regular partner. A couple of times I've had to wait for the gear to wear off a bit, but I'd known that was going to be necessary and so it's just been a case of not getting to the point of getting down to it and then having a failure. To be honest, when I am smashed, I am not interested in having sex anyway.

I've never been messily drunk (as in, falling over) as I wouldn't have picked up, but sometimes a combo of drink/drugs/tired/whatever just works against you for a bit.

Drugs are a bugger for playing with the blood flow around the body.

.............just to clarify, this wasn't me it happened to :P

I get really horny when im getting drunk, when i am drunk i cn't stand anyone near me... guys still seem to want to "do ya" though which i find odd... maybe its due to where their brains are kept :P

Most guys get very uncomfortable when they can't get it up, and I don't blame them in the slightest - men are often under the impression that every time they have sex, they must ensure that they perform for several hours and end up giving the woman around two million orgasms a minute or something stupid like that. Essentially, by having such unrealistic views about sex, they're setting themselves up for failure.

Personally, I've lost my erection more than once, and not just because of drunkenness. Alcohol almost never helps regarding sexual performance, however. The first time I couldn't perform, I was with my girlfriend. I actually ended up crying as a result! My opinion nowadays is simply - what goes up must come down. You just pray it stays up long enough. :p

I've also experienced a very different problem - a few years ago, I was on anti-depressants. One of the side effects was that I wasn't able to ejaculate. On the night of my 21st birthday, I ended up in bed with a friend. Getting an erection was no problem, but it was actually finishing the job which was impossible. Normally, being able to keep going for a long time in the bedroom would be a great asset for any man, but not in those circumstances! It was just downright bloody frustrating.

Alcohol retards sexual performance. I thought that was common knowledge.

When I get drunk and flop, I take that as God's way of saying "She's not good enough for you, precious"

You sure it's not God's way of saying you're not good enough for her?

Well, my erections are great when I've got 'em, but never that reliable - very annoying when you're turned on but the damn thing won't go up, but I've had to accept that that's the way I am.

So to answer the question, of course not or I wouldn't be with any woman very long!

The only good thing is, it's made me pretty good with hands and tongue (oh, and I love teasing a woman with a vibrator too - a good clit stim one like Natural Contours 'Jolie' works wonders!)

If that's the case, God has a wicked sense of humour.

The whole human race is so idiosyncratic, I guess he must have ... probably the only way he doesn't despair of the amount of cruelty and greed we manage ...
