Am I the only one who finds this advert so irritating that it makes me want to download movies out of spite?

Any movie, even a chick flick.

Like someone is really going to watch that ad and think "Hmmm, this advert is clearly aimed at me and the humiliation factor is so high I am never going to download and burn a DVD ever again. I am now a better person. Thank heavens I was watch tv when it was on".

I bet some of those actors in the advert are even guilty of it.

It makes me want to download more movies than I already do.

Mainly because it doesn't give me any consiquences and doesn't tell me what organisation would be after me if I were to continue my piracy.

If they actually wanted to stop the trade in knock off goods then they should show footage of where it is made. Not that this really relates to downloaded movies, but all the other stuff and the DVD's you get offered on the street.

    wheres it made?

    wheres it made?

The DVD's are normally made by quasi-slaves in houses across the UK, illegal immigrants are brought over and then made to work to 'pay off' their passage costs. You can imagine the squalid conditions and the kind of treatment people might get if they disobey the kind of people running the operation.

As for shoes, t-shirts etc. they are normally made in dodgy back street factories in China, or increasingly Cambodia where instead of paying tiny wages staff are quite often bought from their parents and chained to the machines.

The victims of counterfeit goods arent really the big labels they are the workers who make them. And yes the conditions in the legit factories arent great, but they are almost uniformally better than the black market ones.

And of course its not just clothes and DVD's, medicines, toothpaste, shampo, even food is counterfeited.

Isn't it about downloaded films, not counterfeit DVDs?

A guy in my team now gets called Knock-off Nigel constantly cause he came into work with a two stripe tracksuit top with no logo on it at all.

    Asking for trouble tbh.
