Cleanse, tone and all that crap

Former MemberFormer Member Posts: 1,876,323 The Mix Honorary Guru
Right ladies, tell me what to do.

I've been told that if I do the whole cleanse and tone bollocks then when I shave it'll make my stubble really easy for the blade to cut.

I've been to Lush and bought a cleanser bar, toner, facial scrub and moisturiser. Obviously moisturising is last what do I do about the rest?

Clense, tone, mosituriser in that order.

You only need to use a facial srucb about once a week.

OK right, but at what stage does the scrub get involved?

Face scrub, rinse, shave gel on, shave... I think :) (that's how I do my legs anyway!)

So you mean cleanse, tone, then facial scrub etc?

What time of day do you usually shave and how often?

Because my stubble is like barbed wire I only ever shave in the bath - so that's in the mornings, twice, possibly 3 times a week.

Might be an idea to start off cleansing, toning and moisturising before bed and using your scrub then shaving in the mornings. If you get shaving rash too, you could finish with a moisturising after shave balm (Nivea do a good one, according to my bloke).

Come on guys out there, back me up (or correct me!) :)

Must be an age thing, in my 20s I wouldn't have gone near any of that stuff :D

Without the scrub its just straightforward - Cleanse, Tone and Moisturise

When you do use the scrub it's - Cleanse, Scrub, Tone and Moisturise

Right I've managed to blag some of that facemask crap off Lush too - where does that come in order of things?

I always wash and steam my face before putting a mask on. So cleanse, steam, mask, tone moisturise

And if it's one that is supposed to go hard or set so that you can peel it off, don't do it in the bath because the steam will prevent it from setting evenly, and you'll be unable to move certain parts of your face and have creamy splodges on the rest!
