widower (respect), some european countries do (spain/norway/germanyaustria etc), orthodox christian/Jews/eastern europeans, dissolved marriage, sentimental reasons (passed down from relatives), abstinance ring, indian marriages (left hand being considered suspicious), chinese brides wear on right (grooms on left), some to note engagment, some to act single

could be a number of things

:eek2: erm... okay... so there is no single reason then! ?!
this girl is british, no idea what religion she is, or if she's been married before or for that matter if she is currently (- hope not!) ...

might just be a ring? I wore a white gold and pink cubic zirconia ring on my right hand that my now ex gave me as a present. Didn't mean anything just a nice present.

nah... its gold. it looks just like your classic wedding ring.
so i suppose the only way to know for certain is to ask the girl... oh help! :o

i wear my dad's (he died) wedding ring on that finger because its something of his and its the only finger it'll fit on other than my wedding finger!

maybe its a special ring, or just a ring she likes and thats the only finger it'll fit on

maybe ya just reading too much into it?

Best thing to do is ask. Have you asked whether or not she has a partner?

I've heard some LGBT people wear their rings on different fingers because they want to and don't feel bound by any tradition. I have 2 friends (female) who are having a civil partnership first and will wear those rings on their right hands but when they have a religious ceremony will get other rings to wear on their left hands.
