Yeah I know some, they are: www.geocities.com
www.angelfire.com
www.cityslide.com
www.cjb.com
www.freewebz.com

Theres loads of them on the net, I'm sure about the cjb one, but you can on all of the others. Also, I think cityslide has stopped taking new members. (angelfire and geocities are the best ones).

you can get www.geocities.com/yourname/ but not a domain name for free from them.

I think namezero used to offer free domain names too. But for the amount that domain name registration actually costs (you probably spend more each month on your mobile phone than two whole years of domain registration would cost) you should just buy the domain name you want. Put it on your birthday/xmas present list if you are too poor to afford £10.

Once you have the domain name, you can use 'domain forwarding' to use that domain name for any site anywhere, even a free host one.

www.yourname.vze.com

www.yourname.vze.com

technically thats a sub-domain

Buy one, honestly its not expensive and you won't be subject to pop-ups or advertisements... and even if your not too bothered, you'll find they do bother everyone else who visit your site

Your domain can be hosted anywhere on any webspace, alternativly you can use whats called DNS fowarding (ie. yourdomain.net > geocities.com/somewhere/toolong/ ) and if required you can create this within a frame so it appears to be hosted by the domain
