Ok, I'm thinking of buying a webcam. Has anyone got any idea which are the best, at a reasonable price?

Well the most common and most bought webcams on the market are the Logitech cams. Found in absolutley any electrical retailers or catalogs!! Ideally you want a webcam that has more frames per second. The most common is 30 frames per second, I think I've seen one for about 60 fps but I can't remember!

The price ranges from about £30-£70 You could go one step further and buy one for about £100 .... but its not much difference. It really depends on what you want to use it for, just for personal use then I recommend the Logitech cam.

I brought 2 logitech quickcams for £50 - gave one to my g/f and they work great however most cams are poor quality, have you considered buying a digital camera? They have better quality plus the fact you can take it out and about, more expensive of course :S

I'd actually advice against buying a joint webcam and digital camera, The ones available are really crap resolution!

If we're talking digital cameras then you'd be silly not to go under 1 megapixel resolution and if you want that combined with say a webcam then your talking mega-bucks. Kodak and Fuji have some good models available for just digital cameras (check out the Kodak 3215 - 1.3Mpx Sweet)

Best off looking for a webcam with a high resolution, there are some out there. Also bear in mind that performance on the recipients side is down to connection speeds too which play an important role. If you got a nice high res camera and they have a crap connection its just not going to perform top of the pops really...

I'm very happy with the Logitech 3000. Runs about $100.00US and is damn good.
