hey, i think that "across the universe" by john lennon is the best song of all time and fiona apple does a wonderful remake of it too...

    erm... 'Imagine' by John Lennon. I dunno, it just sticks with you.

    I'd also go with 'If Ya Think I'm Sexy' by Rod Stewart but oh well...

    I think Coldplay's Trouble will be one of the few hits of recent times to be remembered in 20 odd years time.

    But the best track ever recorded would have to be Champagne Supernova by Oasis.

    There are sooo many great fucking songs out there, but if there was a gun to my head and I was forced to choose, it would have to be (not in any particular order)
    - "Nothing Else Matters" by Metallica
    - "In My Life" by The Beatles (Lennon)
    - "You Never Give Me Your Money" by The Beatles (McCartney)

    I realised I was way too damn indecisive to choose one all time favourite song, so ive shortlisted some of many and even that took me a long time to decide....
    Greenday (obviuosly)- Time of your life
    Nirvana - something in the way
    Foo Fighters- Generator
    Foo Fighters- Breakout
    U2- With or without you
    Incubus- Antigravity Love song
    RHCP- Scar Tissue, well actually pretty much everything the chillies have done, including Under the Bridge!
    Radiohead- Blow out (off pablo honey album- not as well known, also Talk show Host (the one off Romeo and Juliet!)
    Anyway ive gone on way too much but im sure ill be back with yet another list of all time classics.

    I think Greenday have released a few songs that'll go down in history; namely Good Riddance, Basketcase and When I Come Around.
    Queen are cool too, with We Will Rock You and the Bohemian Raphsody.
    There are soooo many classic bands, RHCP, Aerosmith, ect.

    My favourite has to be Don't Wanna Miss A Thing, it makes me go all soft.

    With or Without You (U2) is an amazing song. As is I still haven;t found what I'm looking for.
