Planet of the Apes- all the hype.

The hype surrounding the new Planet of the Apes movie is pure evil. The origional was a classic with Mr Heston being on Earth all along. The new one boasts great special effects but is never really tense or better than an average action b-movie. The different ending was pure shit, the biggest disappointment in the living history of cinema. Do NOT spend good money to see this toss, I am angry that I was foolish enough to sit through it. I expected much more from Tim Roth, Helena Bonham Carter and Tim Burton... thank the Lord for scantily clad Estella Warren (the only plus point). A film that was average action drivel has a twist at the end that couldn't be more turd if it had dropped from my arse! Can someone explain why? For the love of Jesus, WHY? It should've been called "Crouching Monkey, Hidden Marky (Mark)" -good eh?

Are my views justified or am I a film nazi?

Just remember, "...never send a monkey to do a mans job." Pathetic even for an action film, who does Dirk Diggler think he is? Schwarzanegger?

Which is the worse film staring Marky Mark, 'Planet of the Apes' or 'The Perfect Storm'?

I really cannot seem to get enthused about this version. The best part of the original was the twist at the end, and there is no twist in this version, apparently. So it's just a film about a planet with apes as the dominant species (hence the title - I know), why bother. The whole POINT of the original was that man had brought this on himself.

Shame - another classic film ruined by the remake (or re-imagination in this case)

I saw the film about a month ago, and the best part of the whole thing were the fucking previews at the beginning. I too expected more from Helena Bohnam Carter and Tim Roth, but sometimes, it's not the actor's fault. As an actor, I have found that half the time there is a bad film or stage production, it's ususally the writing or the direction. But the other times, when there are good films, it's not just the actors. So what many film makers and theatre producers fail to realise, is that, with all technical aspects aside, you need these three elements to make the best production possible. So if you're gonna blame anyone for the shitiness of POTA, then blame the writers and the director. <IMG alt="image" SRC="http://www.thesite.org/ubb/mad.gif">

I wish I'd seen these posts before I spent good money on seeing a load of crap. I thought the ending was totally naff and I don't know about you but when Marky Mark kissed the ape I was nearly sick - that was Dirty!! He had the pretty blonde there was no need to kiss the ape!

Anyway this film certainly wont be in my top 10 favourite films!
