Any other Pixies fans about? They are now just about my favourite band ever. They were the forerunners of alternative rock and a big influence on Nirvana. If ure into any rock, punk or indie, check them out. They were around from 1987 to 1991/2. And I saw Frank Black (songwriter, singer and rhythm guitarist) at Reading this year <IMG alt="image" SRC="http://www.thesite.org/ubb/biggrin.gif">

I certainly used to be, about the same time as I was listening to James, Inspiral Carpets etc.....I think I've even got most of their albums somewhere, and a bootlegged live performance tape.
Just after getting to Uni my tastes changed to more house/trance/techno stuff which is pretty much the way it is now, so I don't listen to them as much anymore.
I did get Frank Black's first two solo albums though, a bit weird but still inspired stuff, didn't Kim Deal (sp?) form her own band too??
So what's ya best rated album by 'em??

It matters not who won or lost, but how you place the blame.
Although, having said that, when i first heard 'where is my mind' at the end of Fight Club I became completely obsessed with it, so maybe the Pixies is the band for me.
Suggestions as to which album to start with?
if in doubt-dance.
Remember dancing to the Pixies in the Ritz on a monday night while at Manchester Uni in the late 80's
Saw them a couple of times at Reading.
