i want to start a college course in accounting in september part time doing accounting aat nvq level 3 is this a good way to get into a career in accounting? and what would i need to do after, also how long would it take in years and cost wise?

    I've done AAT. You need level 3 and 4 (or the diploma eviqulent) to get membership and further. Should take a year each part time but as well as the course you have to pay for books, exams fees and student memebership of the AAT.

    You ideally need to have an accounts/bookkeeping based job. A few people doing the AAT with me stuggled because they didnt couldnt practise the theory.

    If you want to do charted/mangement accounting afterwards you need at least another three/four years doing it part time. You really need sponsership and an company that will support you at that time.
