stupid credit card question...

my 0% balance is up this month so i'm doing the sensible thing and transferring to another card that will give me a long 0%, all good you would think.

however i've gone and balanced transferred the amount that was on my last statement rather than allowing for the cheque i'd just sent to them, this means im gonna be in credit on my old card.

can i get that back? because i'm gonna close the card will they send me a cheque? or will i need to spend the balance?

    Nah, its your money. They will just send you a cheque for the credit. (but you will have to ask)

    If they get arsey, just say you will have to charge them interest, like they do with us when we hold their money.

    oh good, i'll get on the phone to them next week then. not letting them keep my money!
