I JUST GOT A NEW JOB!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 
I am SO chuffed!
I have been working for the same large I.T. company for 5 years, 4 of which on shifts as most of you know - doing 12 hour shifts, 2 days, 2 nights:yuck: :yuck:
My basic pay is still only 18,500, but with my bonus for doing shifts it's upto 23k+ and then I get a home buyer benefit of 8% but that is only for another year then it drops in increments over 3 years.. brings a total of 25K
ANYWAY, To cut to the chase, I just got a job in a new field of IT I am training in and the pay was 24-28K, I asked for 26 and they offered me 27k!!!!!
I am SO happy!
Finally back to a day job! 9-5:30 for a few months then on a rota between 7-7 so 7-3 8-4 etc - fantastic!
I am so chuffed its unbelievable!
I even had a few tears haha
Just thought I'd share as this is the break I have been waiting for to get off these fucking horrendous shifts!
They make me fcking depressed and grumpy etc and my training has just been shit because of it

What job are you doing now then? (what's the new field)
I'm specialising in telecommunications like networks etc but this company is a specialist at carrier level, the network is like BT's itself so I will get some serious technical work which I need, the pay can only go up from here! lol
Well I gradudated my GCSE's a few years ago if that counts? lol
It's network engineer mate on a Cisco based support centre so I'm chuffed, decided last year I wanted to move into networking and telecoms
It definitely matters a great deal to be happy with the working hours and getting a pay increase is even better. Good luck!
