Write a massive love letter. I did this with my ex, and it was HUGE and it seemed to hit the spot. You could even buy a teddy and tuck the letter under it's arm then give it to him :o

Get tickets for something you could do together, like a concert, musical or even something like ice skating? You could even arrange a meal or something nice before/after it and make a proper day/night of it, doesn't even have to be Valentine's weekend - you could make it for the end of next month or something and it gives you both something to look forward to.

clay-pigeon shooting, bake a cake, make him a t-shirt with "I dated Rachael and all I got was this lousy t-shirt."...

    the possibilities are ENDLESS.

just that I never have a g/f :crying:

Awww, you're time will come Strubs, you'll see :thumb:

As for non-money spending ideas... how about cooking a meal for him? I think that's always a simple but special thing to do for each other (I was going to suggest a picnic in the park but then I remembered we're still in goddamned winter... :grump: ) You could set out the table nicely and decorate to give a special 'ambiance' and everything...

Wasn't there a thread like this last year and the general concensus was steak and a blow job :)

You could name a star after him? You can find various websites on the internet that do that, it's a kinda cool idea. I did it for my boyfriend a year ago.

    Just a suggestion!

I cook him meals as a treat sometimes and he err orders them in. I loove the idea of clay pigeon shooting. I wish we could go paint-balling that would be fun. But I think we need to invite all of our friends to make up teams. Think we're just going to drive somewhere nice super early (like where you see on the motorway but you never stop) and look at the sun coming up. Never done this before and have always wanted to. Sounds gushy but I like it. The star idea is good but I'd like to save that for when we've been dating a bit longer.

You could go somewhere like Blue Bell Hill picnic site which I've never been to but has some gorgeous views? Or wherever you go you could pack like a little breakfast basket and have maybe croissants, some fresh fruit and tea/coffee while you watch the sun come up :)

a porn mag made up from pics of you, saucy pics, as rauncy/sweet as you like. Don't put anything in there you wouldn't want anyone to see, these things have a way of getting 'lost' in a nasty breakup, for instance.

Steven left me a little message in bed just written on a scrap piece of paper saying I love you, and I thought that was lovely - wasnt for valentines but was a nice idea.

He may now kill me for telling you this (he likes to pretend he is a big hard nut :p)

Sounds like you’ve got things sorted now – the picnic sounds a lovely idea.

If anyone else is stuck for inspiration, you might want to check out this 70 romantic ideas list on the BBC website. It’s focused more on date ideas than gifts though, so I did a bit of Googling and came up with this website which suggests some romantic gift ideas. If anyone knows of a better list, feel free to post.

    Have a great Valentine’s
