out of date food

My grandma has brought a few Creme Eggs that are out of date (best before end of July last year) from a shop. It's not the first time it's happened from the same place. What's the law on selling out of date food?

    They need to offer you a full and immediate refund or the shop are up shit creek.

    Yep we bought some sweets today that were passed their best before date, but there was a sign saying so. It said they will decline in quality after a month or so.

    Half a year after the date is going to be pushing that on the quality side, and I would have thought a cream egg might have a "use by" but depends what it is made of.

    If it's a creme egg then knock the top off, and see what it smells like.

    You don't wanna be risking salmonella or anything nasty like that :(

    Take them back.

    I pointed out an out of date burger in Asda today and they gave Me a £1 voucher!! :D
