OK so millions of people saw the first person pick up the jackpot of £1m. I didn't want her to win cause she was a snob. But we already knew that she was going to win cause of the press. Don't you think that the press spoiled it?

Does anyone reckon it was a set up ? I'm not sure but some people at college were saying...what a coincendence that on the night of One Foot In The Graves last ever episode (which was supposed to get about 12 million viewers) that someone finally gets the million which is bound to get lots of viewers as well! Also maybe the fact that it was leaked to the press was so that people would watch it...just an opinion. I personally think the only reason she won was because she was rich already and wasn't scared of losing the money when she got to £125,000.

Smile :)

She has a daughter who is an artist. She is related to Prince Charles missus. She lives in a £500k home and she is a snob. Well at least she can get a lip job with the £1m. I reckon she was a plant and was told the Q & A's before the show. She was far too relaxed.

I just read on teletext that Millionaire thrashed One Foot In The Grave in the ratings. 14 million to 9 million or something like that. And even the boss (or someone important at the BBC) has said something about it being a hoax, something like 'its amazing how your chances of becoming a millionaire get better depending whats on BBC 1 that night.'

To be fair to who wants to be a millionaire I had no idea that it was the last episode of one foot in the grave

Yeah man! What was up with that lip? It was weird!

Damn! If I won a million squids I'd be running around that fucking studio kissing every mother fucker in the place! I'd cry, scream and all of that mental shit!

She was too reserved, the snobby cow. She really didn't care because she's already rich. She shouldn't have gone on the show and let someone else have a chance the greedy mare!

As for the purple lip, maybe she's been sucking too many plums. That'd explain the stupid voice she speaks in <IMG alt="image" SRC="http://www.thesite.org/ubb/biggrin.gif">

I totally agree with everyone whos commented on this up to now.
I would have been going off my head if I was on that and I won £1,000 never mind £1,000,000, I think I'll try and get on it and big up the site while Im there.
Anyway yes she was a snobby bitch and when she said "well I always said if I got anything up to £16,000 I'd be risky and gamble it", I thought yeah coz thats like a tin of beans to you.
My uncle was going mad screaming get it wrong you daft cow at the screen and my dad said hes gonna find out where she lives and jump her. He was joking of course.

Oh god I hope it doesn't happen now you'll all be blaming my dad.

did anyone see that student win stuff today? he was waaaaay happier about even winning a little bit than the woman was about winning a million. i cant understand how she can just stand there and go "oh gosh" sorta thing after shes just won a million! people like the bloke on after her and the student deserve it more than her. she was a bit snobby i thought.. like when he asked if she could afford to lsoe however much, and she didnt say yes or no, just "well can anyone?" obviously not her...

Hmmm. It's amazing how unpleasant people can get. Just a couple of points.

1. If WWTBAM wanted to fix it so somone won just to piss off Victor Meldrew, then I think they'd have gone for a bricklayer from Sunderland to win rather than a 'rich snob'.

2. Why does a well spoken, admitedly upper-middle class woman automatically get stereotyped as a posh, rich snob?

3. Could it be possible that she won because she had the sense to use her lifelines wisely, used a bit of nous in eliminating the answers to arrive at the correct answer, and is well read, well educated, intelligent, and isn't the sort of hysterical gibbering idiot who would run around kissing every mother fucker around (who would be more likely to bottle it at 64k).

4. As for slagging off her lip, if a 'posh' thalidomide victim won would you all be saying she could buy herself some fucking legs?

5. No, I'm not posh, rich or a snob (although I tend not to tolerate opinionated fuckwits).

6. Apart from anything else, the BBC sin't commercial telly so ratings should be meaningless to them. Ratings exist purely as markers for selling adverts.

Rant over.

She lives in a £500k house, related to Camilla Parker bowles, her daughter is an artist and her husband is a writer or something. She doesn't need the £1m. She could have been a bit more appreciative. If it was a fix then they could have picked someone who would appreciate it a bit more. If I'm wrong then great good luck to her but is does see like a HUGE coincidence!!!

But you gotta admint, grinreaper has made some very valid points. To be honest, I personally don't care.

yes grinreaper did make some valid points but she just annoyed me so much cause there are allot of people who would die to have that much money and she wasn't bothered. She could just put it in the bank with the rest of her millions

Personally I think that people who are not in a very good financial state should be the first to go on WWTBAM I know so many familys who would do almost anything for a couple of tons, last year one of my aunties who has got 2 children couldnt even afford to have a proper xmas dinner because she didnt have enough money, people like her should be given priority as not all poor people are thick.

So are you talking means testing a games show?

People get mad enough with means testing in real life let alone for entertainment.

However, I do enjoy it sooo much more when a deserving contestant wins.
