Govt acts of BritPop Failure

One question: Why are the Govt getting involved?

Has anyone considered - as the article suggests - that perhaps the music created here doesn't appeal to a US audience...

Wasn't the US comment on the matter: "When we've got enough crap in our own country, why import any more?"

They have got a point. And looking at our charts, isn't the vast majority, American, British crap, or British bands that haven't ventured out to the US of A?

And didn't The Doves and Travis play sold out shows in New York a while back?

And there are also British bands like Bush and (can't remember the name of the other one; Liv Tyler's husband is in it...Spacehog or something??) that only have recognition in America.

Ash and My Vitriol are the latest ones to give it a crack. Good luck to them as they're both brilliant bands and will do us proud I'm sure.
