Dexter Holland, Chris Cornell, Patrick Stump, Gerard Way, Ian Watkins, Corey Taylor.

All are good in their own rights and I couldnt narrow it down to just one.

All okay but none are great singers.

Will have to think about this...

Does this actually mean "singer" or singer/songwriter? In terms of voice or other, er, talents...

In terms of everything: Bob Dylan, Leonard Cohen, Bruce Springsteen, Johnny Cash, Paul Simon, Thom Yorke, Tom Waits, Neil Young, Frank Zappa, Jeff Buckley, Ray Davies, Donovan, Stuart Murdoch, Lou Reed, Jimmy Cliff, David Bowie. Etc.

As if I was just going to choose one...

Oh and Gene Kelly, does he count as a singer? :D

Warren Haynes, Faces era Rod Stewart, Bruce Springsteen, Derek & the Dominoes era Eric Clapton, and Mike Cooley.

    Hmmm, they're all growlers* :chin:

*In the low rough voice sense. They're all fine looking chaps. And none are a vagina :o

Rod Stewart is a good shout.

Glad nobody mentioned Damien Rice. Voice is passable, but his music is tailor made for a Swiss euthanasia clinic.

    Liam Gallagher

    :yuck:

I guess its all down to personal preference but that whiney way he stretches out the vowels is as much fun as having a dentist drill into my eardrum.

    Noel, however, is acceptable. :)

    Eminem

Is he REALLY a 'singer'? He raps more than sings and when he does sing, it's kinda girlie.

It's so hard to pin the best down. Far easier to slag off the worst! :)

Oh I forgot Jonathan Davis, the singer from the band Korn.
When I used to be into rock and metal, I was obsessed with Korn and Jon Davis actually has a really beautiful voice.

    He doesn't sing. He talks.

He raps, sometimes sings. Definately a top vocalist if not singer.
