London clubbing scene going funky?

Well I was talking to the owner of The Scala in london the other day during a hardhouse nite (convergence) and he told me the whole scene was due to be going towards funky and less hard, house in the near future. Many of the owners of the clubs are losing money thru ppl using drugs instead of buying drinks so it made more sense for them to enter the funky scene.

I'm hoping the main hardhouse clubs in London will still remain (frantic, trade, there, convergence, provocation, mind over matter, pickle) etc so I should be ok.

I like my techno badarse hardhouse as much as the next man so I'm not too pleased about this, what does everyone else think?

I think its a good thing cause I love Funky House!! Although I do like Hardhouse as well so really Im easily pleased and will enjoy most types of dance music. As long as they dont all turn to cheese I'll be a happy bunny <IMG alt="image" SRC="http://www.thesite.org/ubb/biggrin.gif">

I do enjoy a good night with the hardhouse, for obvious reasons. However, I also love the occasional night with the uplifting trance stuff (generally from the likes of Pendragon). I have been finding it harder and harder to find that stuff being played though, with my last real trance night being Earthdance in October. Then again, as long as they keep up the quality hardhouse, I don't complain.
