Books to films

With the making of harry potter and lord of the rings into films i ask one question why has nobody thought to do it with any of the amazig terry prattchet books, they have turned a few of them in to cartoons and there have even by plays so why not the mext step to films?

    They are very good books.... maybe they will. Until relatively recently though, the effects needed would have looked pretty crap.

    Also, are the books popular in America? There would need to be a fair amount of american interest for anything to do well....

    There have been attempts to, but Pratchett is concerned about maintaining the quality/continuety, quite rightly so. Personally if they could dig up the Monty Python team, literally in some cases, they'd do a fine job of it.

    They would be very good. But then..... they'd be pretty good for any comic role.
