Ok me and a mate where basically going to do a bit of traveling this year but the way things turned out it didn't quite happen. Anyway we have decided that for summer 08 we are going to organize a couple of good holidays. We have both got a decent amount of money saved up about £2000, and we are looking for something decent. We don't want to go on lads holidays to ibiza etc because we have both done that stuff before.
Anyone have any suggestions to any events, festivals or cool places we could go. We both wanted to go to America but as nether of us have held a full uk driver's licence for longer than 3 years I don't think this would be possible.
Cheers

You could get an inter rail ticket from about £350 and travel all around Europe/North Africa, sleeping on the trains or in cheap hostels and visit amazing places like Prague, Krakow, Amsterdam, Morrocco, Paris, Berlin, Ljubljana and many more. http://www.interrailnet.com/interrail_global_pass
Also, Thailand is also a popular choice with travellers these days. http://www.lonelyplanet.com/worldguide/destinations/asia/thailand/
Thailand (that's where I'm off to!) and South East Asia in general or you could do Europe (from places in Western Europe like Amsterdam, Barcalona, Germany, Austria to Eastern Europe like the former Yugoslavian countries, Poland and even Russia).
Another place I'd love to visit is Egypt.
I'm planning to inter-rail round Italy and do a mammoth trek of Canada next year.
