Guarantour

Can you be your own guarantour? Basically my Dad is funding my university, but he lives the other side of the world so theres 1, no chance of the money being here in time and 2, he cant sign for it! So the plan was to transfer the money into my bank and then me send a cheque..?

    No. The guarantor is there in case YOU can't pay, so you can't be your own!

    yes you pay for your own accommodation.
    if you can't/don't pay then your guaranteer is responsible for the payment.
    so no you cannot be your own.

    I don't think you've quite understood the role of the guarantor.

    You are expected to pay your own bills etc.

    The guarantor is there as a back up, by agreeing to be the guarantor they are saying if you don't pay the bills then they will.

    Whether or not they will accept your dad ast he guarntor if he lives overseas will vary.
