Why are my boots so tight?

I got some new boots a few weeks ago, but because of the way the sizes are in various shops, I had to go down 2 sizes. Now, I have skinny feet but for some reason, the bit right near the front is really tight, but my boots aren't that tight,. Anyone know why? I can't wear them any looser because they'll be far too loose for me.

Yep. You get different thicknesses and different shapes, so you'll need to best judge which are going to fit yourself.
