hey guys,
i wondered if anyone can answer my question....

if i texted a UK phone that is in another country when i am still in the uk, do i get charged for a normal text or do i have to pay extra for it?

    You're being charged standard rate for texting any UK number, it doesn't matter where they are at the moment. Only recipient may be charged for receiving a text when abroad. It really depends on the network and users tariff.

    We gave some relatives that live abroad a UK SIM Card to put into a spare phone and was then able to SMS them for free.

    when i did that one time i got charged extra, i think it was either 20p / 50p / message. but then later using a different phone on a different network i got charged the standard rate and i know they had to pay to receive the texts i'd sent them... it might depend on the country though / network / etc. either ask your operator or just try it and find out.
