New Job and where to look

Ok, I am leaving uni, so I need to get a job. I know what I *don't* want to do, eg, data entry or other office jobs. But where do I look?

Job centre- has cleaning, building, and office jobs mainly.

Internet- mostly for IT and professional roles

Help me someone

Look at our lovely articles: http://www.thesite.org/info/careers/getting_a_job/

Try 'what's your perfect job?' and 'job openings' for starters...

Thank you.. just a suggestion for your job section if I may.... The job centre has a web site now, with all of the jobs that you can find in the job centre on a database, so you can search within specified areas. It's actually very good (and means I don't have to get out of the house and go down the job centre )..I think the address is www.employmentservice.gov.uk could you add a link, I am sure it would be helpful to others.

For me to get employed for a year, I wrote to everywhere and they ended up replying with, 'we will put you on file for the future, best of luck'.

Basically, I had to work my way up (didn't get too far) and got to know the right people. It is really difficult looking for a first or second time job, after that I think there is an idea of what you want to do and ambition plays it's part.

Set on f'ing off to University so I don't have to do 9-5 for another 3 years, sweet! And to get ready for a career.
