How you do it depends on what you want to be.
For aircrew, You have to have at least 2 A-levels A-E, but a degree helps and don't quote me on this, but i think you enter as a higher rank and that = more £££.
Thats all i know about, but there are loads of places you can send off to, to get info.
I hope this helps a little bit. I'm sure there must be someone around this place that is in the RAF or something like that.
Pilots are normally commissioned officers (meaning everyone has to salute you <IMG SRC="biggrin.gif" border="0" ALT="icon">), but there are some non-commissioned aircrew in the back of Sentrys, Nimrods, transport aircraft and Helicopters. If you want to be an oficer you normally need a degree. Engineering officers require engineering-related degrees. I believe engineering ground crew need maths and physics GCSE or equivalent.
I used to be an air cadet and it certainly helps you get ahead in knowing little things like who to salute and how to look after your uniform, but they will teach you all that when you join anyway.
