Temp work

What are your opinions on Temp work? I am leaving my film production job and going to work in the big smoke, over here - then go to University in September.

In my mind - it seems bad how you can spend a month at one place making friends etc and settling in, then having to go through it somewhere else for another month/week etc...

Then again, word on the street is that it pays £6.50-£8.00 an hour?

Thanks for the advice...if there is any.

    article here

Temping has it's pros and cons...you can be doing really dull tasks but you get way over the minimum wage to do them and if you're lucky you may land somewhere nice that keeps you on for a longer stint if not permanently.

I am temping at the mo, I am the only female in the office and the job is dull dull dull! It's all middle aged men but downstairs is the factory and I have seen a few tasty blokes who have livened my day up somewhat!

But I am only here for a week and it's marginally better than day time TV. Temping is easy to get into and get out of too. Some agencies won't take on too many students over the summer so get in quick.

i'll be temping over the summer at the local council, i have also done it the last couple of holidays and really enjoyed it, its a lot different than people of our age get to do.

Also, you have to remember you are doing it so u can get money for univ so you can hardly expect the dream job

The moneys good and experience like this always looks good on a CV so my advice is go for it

let us know how you get on

I got my job that i'm at now through Temping, its dull office work but Moneys good and i get to use the net alot as you can see from my post rank witch really is a bad thing, must cut down!!

Anyway you may make good friend at the place you temp at and keep in touch with them. you should be thinking whats best for you!

I been at my job over a year now and its getting to be a real pain. if i leave/get fired. i will go through Temping again
