you could go down to your local police station and ask for a application form (i dont know whether you can do that but you can try)
and i dont think you need any qualifications to join the police either.
my uncle was a special police oficer and he had to do things to get into it i dont know exactly what he had to do but i could find out for you
dont know if it helped much but i hope it did
luv Amy x
no you help, i'm not even sure its what i want, but i get bord staying in this office(hell as i call it) all week!!
its all "pie in the sky" at this time, but i know i need to find something i want to do.

Get an application form, you download these online from a link in one of the previous postings.
Make a couple of copies!!
And then fill the original out in pencil first, lightly!
Don't mean to sound patronising etc. but when I joined, it is exactly what I did.
(or was made to do by my folks!!)
There used to be a section within the App form where you had to write a bit about yourself, do this over the course of a week, cos it will change!!
Remember that there is no time limit on this form, and it is NOT an exam!
My original app form had Tippex in some places, and that was not a download, they didn't have them then!! Oooops!!
Once you have done the form and you are happy with it, send it off and see what happens!!
I used to know a few policemen who had problems and some of them used to use a little pocket dictaphone. (They are cheap enough now!!) These are really handy cos you can make notes to yourself all shift and then at the end, when you come to do your paperwork, you can then decide what you want to write down and if needs be you will have a log of your night.
Be aware that some force may have an issue with this, and some of your tapes may have to be used as evidence, and for god's sake do not record an arrest with it, a nightmare to sort out!!
Personally, I would wait til I was 21 to join and enjoy being young and available, once you join you kiss goodbye to your weekends, and due to the fact that your mates my be the same age, you may well loose some friends as well. Some people really won't be able to get over the fact that you are a copper!
And those are the firends you don't need!!
Other than that go for it and see what happens.
Good luck, mail me if you want pugsy@pugsy.co.uk
Matt
the writting was putting me off but your dictaphone idea is something that sounds very good and right up my strret
your right about me joining at 21, i'll do it then. i'm 18 now and still like my freedom
cheers for your help
If you come across anymore info that could help me i'd be grateful if u could send it 2 me by e-mail or post it here
cheers mate!!
Regards
A J
