Legalisation of Any Drug?

Former MemberFormer Member Posts: 1,876,323 The Mix Honorary Guru
This has been touched apon in a few treads already but; Which drugs do you think should be Illigal? More, less, none or do you think its fine as it is?

Im not just talking about the legalisation of hash debate. Last night i was thinkign how uterly totalitarian it is that you can be punished for puttign a chemical into your own body. I believe as many peoepl do that only hurtign other people should be punishable. Drug abuse punishes the user its self and normal drug use doesnt cause Any harm. I think it shoudl be peoples own choice and goverment officials shoudl be more concerned about education and helpign those who have gone to far. Also if it were legal it would be safer.

Anyone disagree? If we can get bpbfluteband (the guy who hates 'druggies') back here Id be interested to here his piont of view.

I'd agree with legalising dope, but that's as far as I'd go.

I believe I should have the right to consume what I want even if it is damaging my health. If it don't hurt anyone else what's the problem.

The desicion to do drugs or not, should be left with the educated individual rather than left with this government. The government would rather young people consumed 'good taxable drugs' that are just as bad for your health than consume drugs such as ecstasy and cannabis which bring people together.

The government is making ordinary decent people that pay taxes and arn't violent, don't rob, rape, or offend anyone, into crimminals.

The majority of the population in this country either would like to see hash decrimanlised. That majority also includes a lot of non-smokers who while not enjoying the benifits of this wonderful plant realise that it's worth making it legal.

Why cant our stupid government see this and listen to the majority of the people? Isn't that what a democratic government is for?

    >Which drugs should be decriminalised?

Drugs I've tried that are prohibited for recreational use:
    • Cannabis*
    • Speed
    • Ecstasy (including MDA, MDEA)*
    • Coke
    • Shrooms*
    • Acid
    • Ketamine

    * = Drugs I believe should be legalised

Anything natural (shrooms, cannabis) should be legalised. How can the government prohibit the use of something that you could grow naturally in your back yard.

I believe in legalising ecstasy cos I believe that it has many benifits that far outway the negative effects. Short term dangers are virtually non existant. The only worry I have with ecstassy is the long term effects i.e depression.

I think it would be wrong to legalise any drug. They would be marketed to the point where people that shouldn't have access to them would. Does anyone seriously think the age ban stops kids of 11 smoking? Not where I live anyway.

I think it would be better to make the use/sale of drugs a civil offence (punishable by fines) rather than a criminal offence. This would stop any company activly marketing drugs or producing them in quantities large. Any drug dealer caught would have to pay high fines and/or tax (say 110% of earnings), the user some low on the spot fine. This I imagine cut police time when dealing with arrests that result in cautions and lower the prison population, no dealers inside.

...or frozen, brewed up or cooked in any way. There only legal if raw and you don't want to eat them like that trust me. They can contain loads of parasites!

Fly Agaric fungi on the other hand are legal in every way and give you one hell of a trip!

I use drugs recreationally and have got a really open mind towards them, BUT I don't think anything should be legalised. Not even hash.
