Sick of searching for Pubs?

I recently had an idea and wondered what you guys might think of it.
In my line of work (nightclub management) im often looking up pub phone numbers, and supplier numbers to ring up, since i got my self off my backside and physically went round a lot of places and got the telephone numbers off the managers. I have an uptodate list of contact details for pretty much anywhere in Durham City Centre which is licenced to sell alcohol, including the spar.
Now while i have this book of mine with supplier and personal contact details for companies, i have in the past got sick of looking on websites and search engines upon search pages etc, trying to find numbers and addresses.
Specifically in relation to Durham City Centre and immediate surrounding area, i know of a few schemes to try and do this in newcastle and other places, but what about a specific online directory.
It would be specific to Durham, would have phone/email/web contact details, internal and external images, managers would be able to either contact me with updated details, or in the future update their own pages. Id have opening times, what drinks prices are on particular nights, are they student friendly, any theme nights, pictures and graphics of flyers etc.
Thinking of then using google maps for a pinpoint of where everything is, all the information kinda cross referenced with each other.
Gimmicks like a product of the week and getting free stuff from promotors etc for either giving out for mailing list members, or competitions. Have a mailing list that people could subscribe to, and that's another potential money making source, mailing out new information for a club/pub and that also goes to say possible online voucher tie ins with venues.
What you think of a basic idea?
The money I'd make would be from venues advertising on the page. Possible tie ins with a particular venues promotions, and maybe even restaurants eager to feed some people before they go out drinking.
Yes it would be a more descriptive than a rating based guide, but would be informative, a simple and easy to remember web address, and if you live in the durham area, particularly aimed at students who are regularly new to the area, a one stop shop that's not wishy washy, and is dedicated and has in depth data.

If you got a wiggle on, you could have it sorted for the freshers in September. :thumb:
Hell if I make money off the thing I will hire a stall at freshers fayre, and promote a site.
ETA: You could contact the guys who run that website for some tips.
Are you still working in Durham? How is it all going? It was really quiet in last time I was in your bar.
So is this going to be a studenty-type thing? I'm just thinking you might have some student/local backlash if you put some sort of message board on it.
Local people with local knowledge and all that.
I've been thinking of setting up a forum for the town I live in - simply cos it's so boring and there's no central focus for the town when it comes to things to do
