The River down the road is seriously high. Luckily I'm on the 4th floor. Might go get a few pics of that in a minute.

I took a couple going to work Yesterday though.

    image419bj4.jpg Railway line flooded
    image420ou5.jpgNowhere to go!

Just about every single railway line within the Yorkshire area has been stopped either because bridges have been damaged or rivers have breached onto the line and washed the tracks away.

Jesus wept! That's mad, you're living a bit close to that.

Last time we had a small flood here some mates of mine made money pushing cars out of the water after idiot drivers tried to plough through in Fiestas!

Edit: LOL JsT. I love the train cancelled notice. "It is not possible to arrange road transport. But we are trying".

Why the fuck try if it isn't possible?!

They didn't have time. At 2am they were told to leave now. Police were waiting with transport to take them to a school about 10 miles away.

If the dam goes (more likely when it goes tbh) it will knock out the power in most areas of Sheffield and Rotherham. Right in the path of the water is a power station :|

Anyway, here are some photos posted on the plus.net website. They are based near Meadowhall, near where the people were evacuated by helicopter.

In ol' Hudds The River Colne has burst its banks around Aspley Hall and up towards Visage but nothing major yet.

We have got off very lightly.

There's nothing going on here afaik. Fields are a bit wet, and the river in Sowerby Bridge was apparently 1metre below the bridge last night, which is very high.

I work in Sheffield, very near meadowhall and didnt get home last night, we have been evacuated today because if Ulley Dam goes it will flood the river again. I'm glad I'm home now and hoping for the best for my friends and colleagues that live in the areas that have been evacuated and they cant go home.
