    I'd agree with Harry, however I'm partial to blue king size rizlas.
    The more time you spend on it the better. Unless you're already trashed and then it just seems to get worse and worse

    blue kings or originals.. ODBs r nice 2.

    as for rolling

    u back roll the joint... or front roll if u cant.. make sure u dont overlap the paper n e more than the glue strip.

    erm make mix first.. use bout 70-80% weed baccy mix.. roast the tobbacco first.. silk cut ultra baccy is good.. roast that then mix..

    roach outta gratis. if u still got some.. burn edges of roach paper first. make it bout 1.5cm long.

    When rollin.. pull paper tite as poss without rippin it.

    shroom it at top of spliff when rolled.. burn shroom off.

    perfect spliff.

    How and why do you roast the baccy (I know you gotta burn the resin)?

    Do you cut out the roach and then burn the edges all the way around? And why is this good?

    I'm sorry to ask such daft questions but somebody has gotta teach me sometime ... <IMG alt="image" SRC="http://www.thesite.org/ubb/biggrin.gif"&gt;

    Well blue rizlas r thinner,

    a lot better if ur smokin a weed, cos u dont wanna b smoking paper do you,

    i know a lot of people find them harder to skin up with though because theyre not as rigid sort of thing but i aint never had a problem there.

    Hmmm not too sure why dazey toasts his baccy for a spliff tho <IMG alt="image" SRC="http://www.thesite.org/ubb/confused.gif"&gt; i do it for a mix when im smokin bongs n buckets cos the baccy gotta b like powder but never in a spliff i just rip over half a cig of plonk it in, n put me weed over it,

    yeah u gotta burn resin and blocks so you can crumble them in but not with greens, would sort of defeat the object then,

    n i dont burn the end of my roach either <IMG alt="image" SRC="http://www.thesite.org/ubb/confused.gif"&gt; what you do that for daze?

    Oh and about how u roast the baccy ways ive done it is put the cig on a radiator or in a microwave or just move your lighter (lit) back and forth underneath ur cig and turn the cig so u get all sides of it sort of thing, you gotta watch it with the lighter so u dont burn through the paper.

    Thanks Spirit ... <IMG alt="image" SRC="http://www.thesite.org/ubb/smile.gif"&gt;

    So does toasting the baccy change the flavour of the spliff?

    There has been so much advice I'm not gonna add anything on technique, just a few personal opinions of my experience. Really the art of skinning is one that with so many other things, practice makes perfect. I have been smoking really for the last 4 / 5 years and have seen some class skinning. I admit my skinning technique is a bit clumsy and ugly looking (prolly cuz my co-ord not the greatest), but it has always smoked very well. I used to always smoke with my pipe, just meant I didn't have to worry what others thought of my technique. The more I've practised the better I've become and am no longer embarrassed to share one of my offerings to a mate <IMG alt="image" SRC="http://www.thesite.org/ubb/smile.gif"&gt;

    One secret I was taught when I first got into this malarky is that with resin crumble it very very fine, it is less likely to rock out,therefore protecting your clothes and carpets..

    Everyone has offered their preferences as to which paper to use, I personally prefer using Orange king size to skin because it's not too thick nor too thin, although I have also used and do use when I can get them RIPS because they are 1 length of paper that you rip off to your desired length taking the hassle of gumming multiple skins together for a bigger spliff. IMHO I think Silk Cut are the best smoke for a spliff, I have been brought up on using these for the purpose of skinning. There is a skinning tips site called The Roller Handbook which you might find useful...

    I think it's because I'm clumsy
    I try not to talk to loud
    I think it's because I'm crazy
    I try not to act to proud

    sometimes after u put the roach in a bit comes over the edge, u burn the excess paper off so it doesn't go soggy.
  • Former MemberFormer Member Posts: 1,876,323 The Mix Honorary Guru
    roastin tobbacco takes tase n nicotine n other stuff that makes it taste out... much better if u cant taste the baccy in the spliff. u dont burn the tobbacco like in bongs just roast it a little.

    rizzla.. best 1s r originals.. normal rizzla r too wide n u have to tear a piece off the or u get overlap n smoke loadsa paper.

    red - thickest - easiest to roll with
    green - medium
    blue - thinnest - best rizzla brand

    u burn the roach paper at the edges, if not u'll get fluffy bits and it clogs THC up in it. if u have sharp edges THC flows easier.
    If ur cutting the roach with scissors u dont need to.. its just if u tear it u need 2.

    Ahh but if ur skinnin up proper u dont need to, if ur good u can skin up with the roach already in, which i can <IMG alt="image" SRC="http://www.thesite.org/ubb/biggrin.gif"&gt;

    I know what u mean about burning that off though but thats not what daze was talking aout as u cann see from the post above, i usually tuck it in wiv me clipper if theres only a bit or tear it n tuck it in cos dont know i just do <IMG alt="image" SRC="http://www.thesite.org/ubb/tongue.gif"&gt;

    I dont know anyone who roasts thier baccy for a spliff though, and ive been around/with( <IMG alt="image" SRC="http://www.thesite.org/ubb/wink.gif">) some heavy smokers especially when i was livin at me dads,

    i see what u mean about burin the roach now tho,

    and actually.....

    green rizlas - thickest
    red rizlas - medium
    blue - thin

    <IMG alt="image" SRC="http://www.thesite.org/ubb/tongue.gif"&gt;

    Erm... so is it worth roasting the baccy then? Does it make a huge difference? I don't particularly like the taste of the stuff, so will roasting it help?

    Ta.
