What I mean is that not only were both drunk but it was over a pint of bitter and people seem to think it's alright to be violent when drunk like it exuses the way they're behaving.
    Have I explained enough now??????

I assume that Grievous Bodily Harm, as opposed to the rather nasy drug sharing the same acronym, is what was inflicted on one guy by another guy, either or both of whom, it seems, had too much alcohol to drink.

    Right?

    Oh i see!!!!!
    d'oh...... ;-)
It is bloody crazy that people turn violent when they drink. why is this? when i get drunk the last thing i want to do is fight with anyone. But maybe that's because I don't like violence anyway.
But what is the solution. Ban alcohol?

Violence often seems to manifest itself in people who are confused, afraid, feel misunderstood or mis-treated by society or are unable to express themselves.
Alcohol has the same effect on you & I as it does on them, ie. confidence, courage and fewer inhibitions. The difference though, I guess, is that while you or I would probably have the courage to bust a new and daring and probably quite horrific move on the dancefloor or dish out a particularly shocking chat-up line to some unsuspecting little sweetheart ;o), others have the "courage" to start kicking and punching people. (
I remember long ago in school there was a particular way of thinking where the "hardest" boy in the year would get the most "respect", perhaps this image driven mentality carries over for some people into adult hood? What does anyone think?
Essentially I think that violent people need as much understanding and help as we can give them. I feel that in most cases there will be an underlying problem within that really needs sorting out so that these people can be at peace with the world again.
I know very little about this. Maybe someone can shed a little more light on this for us so we can begin to understand and help out a little more?
