For me i just write things out over and over again until i can remember it.

Do plenty of past exam questions too and get them marked, at least then you will know where you are going wrong and you can have a good one to one with your tutor to sort out any problems.

What kind of learner are you? I'm a very visual learner so it helps me to colour code notes, draw diagrams, make flashcards, things like that.

play solitare. After reading a passage, get the cards out and play while trying to recite the key points you remember from the passage outloud. Because you are doing the two things at once, this somehow makes your brain put it into a better memory store than flakey short-term memory. I also have a tv/dvd on, somewhere in the corner of my vision when reading, it helps me to concentrate- if a room is silent with nowt else going on I can't read very fast and have to keep rereading lines.

www.mathsnet.net for A-Level maths. It's pretty good, if you know which modules you're doing (not doing A-Level maths, I didn't know which bits I needed to go into 'cause I forgot, so it helped me NONE, but it was good when we used it in class).

Test your memory by trying to write stuff down without notes.

Not what you're after but a little most days is better than lots in a few days.

I used to make mind maps - lots of them  That way I could see how things connected to each other.
