How to write a resignation letter

Need to do this but ive not idea what to include or how to word it, help?

    Mine just said:

    Please accept this as formal notice of my resignation from the position of # with effect from #.

    In accordance with my contract of employment I am happy to continue to work until the end of my notice period.

    Quick search on google gave me some good templates, but the jist of a simple one is as follows:

    Dear (whoever you give your notice to),

    Re: Resignation.

    As agreed I hereby give x weeks notice of my intention to leave my position as (your job) on (date you want to leave).

    I wish both you and the rest of the team all the best for the future.

    Yours sincerely,

    Your name.


    You can add in more about why you're going etc if you want to. www.i-resign.com has loads of templates.
