Does anyone know how to change the "Stacey's Bondage Empire" bit.

Its bothering me.

My ex did it somehow and I don't know how to change it :banghead:

    I have a spelling mistake on my Office applications. Think you might have to live with it. Unless some uber computer geek can let us know otherwise :D

    Its really not funny.

    That prat still manages to annoy me. I'm having to open up Microsoft Word alot at the minute (lots of essays to do!) and I keep seeing it :o

    It annoys me even more because at the time he did it, he said "You'll never be able to change this! haha". Twatface.

    I think you have to reinstall word to get rid of it. It's the company information that you add when installing that goes there.

    I already had Microsoft Word installed and it took him a while to do it.

    Go to start -> Run and type in regedit. Whack return.

    Search the registry for the term Bondage (lets be honest not likey to appear very often.)

    This will search through and stop when it finds an entry of bondage.

    Will most likely stop on reg keys like

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Installer\UserData\S-1-5-18\Products\0B79C053C7D38EE4AB9A00CB3B5D2472\InstallProperties

    You can just right mouse click this and copy file name. Copy all instances into a text file and post the text file here.

    Or if your confident on changing the registry change them as you go along.

    The changes have definately saved. I've reset my computer.

    I can't reinstall word because my ex did it with one of his disks.

    Are there any more occassions in the registry where it occurs if you do a search? Could be that it's picking it up from somewhere else as well.

    I've tried that. Typed in the word "bondage" and nothing came up.

    He told me I'd never be able to change it :(

    I don't know. My ex installed it all. I think its 2000 but I'm not sure.

    How do you find out what version you are using?

    Do you just fancy me whacking a copy of office 2003 in the post to ya :p. Or 2007 if you want, but that has gay validation stuff. Since you already legally own office ;) surely distribution of the install media isn't wrong haha.

    If you look at the link I posted earlier to the microsoft site, looks like it doesn't update till you follow steps 9 onwards as well as what you've done.
