Because, my original post said i'd just got back from the match blah blah blah knowing our next Champions League match against Chelsea.
Hence, why I started a thread about LFC v Scum.
And since forever, along with Man Utd and Everton.
Until the billionaire, Chelsea were insignificant...
Not sure, but since I was a kid its always been 'the scum are coming up on Saturday etc' . Maybe it was a holligan rival thing, I don't know.
Anyway, I can't call your game with Chelsea. If I was betting I'd go with Chelsea but I won't be betting, because it's a Champions League semi-final, and things like decisions will probably come into play in such a highly charged game, just as they did 2 years ago.
If United manage to get past Milan, which will be difficult, I'd probably prefer Liverpool in the final over Chelsea. I think Liverpool have only beaten United once in the last 8 meetings, whereas Chelsea's record is much better, especially under Mourinho. Also Man United vs Liverpool would be the dream final because of the intense rivalry.
It would get messy!

im not disagreeing that you and some people you know might refer to chelsea as 'the scum'.
but in general, most liverpool fans use the term for man u. and the majority of the rest of the country recognise this.
