I'm not a huge fan of D&B mostly, but Pendulum are great.

Pendulum are to the scene what High Contrast was last year - the upcoming star who's reputation is well justified.

People have already mentioned Hype but Dillinja have some good stuff and Ganja Kru's "Dark Light" is a masterpiece in my opinion.

In my opinion quality D&B has been declining since 2000. It really doesn't intrest me any more. It doesn't seem to carry the same energy it used to.

Skive, do you recon you could possibly upload this set again?

I have been searching for this exact set for years. its one of those ones that got absolutely thrashed back in the day then lost/stolen. It was pretty much the tape that got me into DnB.

I was trying to search for it using google and a thread on here came up and i signed up.

anyway, if you (or anyone else who has it) could upload it i would be sooooo grateful.

    Cheers,

    G.

If you like Pendulum they have there "Hold your colour" album out, they also did a double mix CD called "Jungle sound gold". Its hard to find but there is an album of Pendulum Remixes of stuff floating about as well.

Get High Contrast - High Society... its old but still good...
Look out for the Hospital records mixed CD's.

Concord Dawn are brilliant, get "Chaos by design"
Here is a video for one of the tunes off it called broken eyes... im in love with this tune. (You might even like this Skive)
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JzoFcYAVXWQ

Fresh - Escape from planet monday is a good album...
a couple of tunes on that are
All that Jazz - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_aeatXHk69s (the vid is a piss take, but the tune is the right one)
    Nervous - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XFE3aggDuOo

Matrix and Futurebound - Universal Truth
New album by them 2, its VERY good... but might be getting a bit too far into things if your just getting into d&b

Sub Focus - He doesnt have an album... but is along the same style as pendulum...
    Frozen Solid
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vkY1YLf5dxE
    Airplane
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L5-9ynJlfI8

Yeah, anyway... thats probably more than you will need for the min.

Yeah definately get a live Tape/CD pack.

Hype, Andy C, Zinc, Mampi Swift, Brockie, Friction, Sub Focus, Nicky Blackmarket (does some good old skool Jungle), Shy FX, and I'm really liking this Brazillian DJ who I saw at last years Tranz-Mission called Marky.

Any live sets with Shabba D and Eksman MC'ing are guaranteed to be fucking brilliant.

I reccomend buying last years Tranz-Mission CD pack, the Andy C B2B Hype set is FUCKING brilliant. It was amazing to see aswell! Fearless and Shabba are the MC's.

to the original poster, i would recommend:

    ltj bukem
    high contrast

i could recommend a load more, but if i gave a list of 20 you still wont know where to start. i hate it when i ask for recommendations and i get a list of 20, so there you are... nice and simple. 2 of the best. enjoy :)

i should mention that andy c is generally considered top dog for mixes/djing. find an andy c mix with a tracklisting, and see which tunes are your favourite.

Mate, you are an absolute diamond! :thumb: :D

I'll see if i can find any similar stuff to upload in return if you like, although like i said most of my classic stuff got nicked/lost years ago. I've got some recent stuff floatin about on my work PC (where I am now) so I'll upload some stuff anyway for anyone who's interested.

    Thanks again man! :)

I'm uploading it now. Be aware that it may not be the tape you think as I'm sure there was more than one Tazmania event in 96.

That is true, DnB nowa days is just a bag of fast tearing noise, it's not musical at all any more. It's sub genres like Atmospheric & Liquid DnB are much better and much more vibrant and happy.

Check out these two lovely mixes:

Future Engineers - Studio Mix (Spring 07)

    Blizzard - Atmospheric Landscapes

My advice for anybody who's interested in D&B and Jungle is to get yourself on Ebay and buy some tape packs. You cannot beat sets recoreded live at an event. Helter Skelter, Dreamscape, AWOL, Slammin Vinyl, Tazmania, Obsession etc etc from 94 through to 98. :thumb:
