Your colour

How do you know which is 'your colour'? What are the keys to finding out?
I have dark hair (almost black), white skin and brownish green eyes (just so if anyone feels like advicing which colour best suits me ).
A friend of mine though said that your colour depended not only on your physical characteristics but also on your personality.
If there are any beauty/fashion experts out there, what's your opinion on this? Any inpunt appreciated, thanks.

If so, I think that the blue of my Co-op uniform and of my Canoe Club kit suits me well, along with brown. I reckon I look better in bright colours than pale ones, like pastels and whites.
I've always thought red suits me because it makes a good contrast with my dark hair. I also like to wear blue but sometimes I think I look too pale in it.
I would love to have an expert tell me though. That colour me beautiful place looks cool! Shame i don't live in Britain though. I saw they have a wide international coverage as well, but my area isn't covered.
I'm going through a self-image indulgence phase right now, it's the first time in my life I think I'd be ready to spend some serious money on my looks. I'd love to have a makeover, but I don't know where to start tbh.
Also, visiting a beauticians for a makeup lesson could give you new ideas on how to apply your makeup for daytime and evening looks or alternatively you could visit the beauty counters at a department store and get a free makeup makeover!
You could get your hair done, this is a sure fire way to give yourself a new look.
In fact, the link you posted inspired me to search for a local place that did something like that, and I think I may have found something, so thanks!
Dunno, non-garish colours seem to do it for me as I have quite dark features.
You don't need them. Just hold clothing up next to your face and look in a mirror, you'll soon see if it's right for you or not!
Mostly it's more to do with shade than actual colour I think.
I agree with Miffy that it's more to do with the shade than the colour.
I have naturally brown hair but it's blonde at the moment.
My colour has always been red - not dark reds but vibrant ones like this and this.
I also suit greens and purple.
I definately don't suit pinks, beige/browns or yellow as they make me look even more pale and washed out. I don't erally suit white either.
I do own several pastel pink clothing as well as brown though. The browns aren't doing me much of a favour I've realised. I'm still undecided about the pink.
I think you should just go shopping and try on tops of various shades of a colour, and you'll develop an eye for what suits best.
Bright pink, bright yellow, blue, black, white, red blah blah blah all seem to suit me. Depends on what colour my hair is.
