Phobias

My favourites include:

Fear of being pushed out of the window by the dog, fear of archaeologists and fear of the wind blowing your clothes off.

God, there was some weird shit on there. This one blew my mind a bit:

"Fear of a Flux in the Time-Space Continuum -- No, this is not Star Trek. This fear may best be explained in the following example: Joe was about to cross the a residential street. Now, although there were currently no cars driving by, there have been in the past and will be in the future. He becomes uncertain that it's really NOW now, considering that, as he crosses, past or future events could present themselves and he might be hit. This has been the Submitter's fear since about age 10. I really have nothing to compare to this one."

The one on Polyphobia was a bit mad too.... how on earth do they ever get anything done?!

I have heard of one (it wasn't on that site..) before that was of ducks watching you.

a mate of mine said i had pornophobia last night after i refused to sit and watch porn with him :chin:

im pretty certain that is NOT the proper term for someone who is "afraid" of porn .. but it should be!!
im sure theres someone out there who is.. hmm

    A case of WeirdoPhobia :p

I've the usual phobias. Although I reckon phobia is too strong a word as phobia as a real unrational fear of something. These are just medium to strong fears.

Spiders - Hate the way the walk. Creepy bastards.
Heights - Looking down or up makes me dizzy and spewwy.
Claustrophobic - Hate lifts. Couple the heigths thing with an Aeroplane and I'm no fun to take on holiday.

also, i dont know if youd call it a phobia as such - but my sister absolutely HATES plane food.
whenever we're on a flight and the food comes round she has to turn away, cries and is sometimes physically sick.
god knows why. she's a weirdo
i HATE sitting next to her when we're flying

my best mate has a phobia of ketchup. once another friend put an un-opened sachet of ketchup in her drink and she wouldn't drink it.

i was scared of milk for a while, purely because you can't see through it so don't know what's in there (i don't like milk anyway) - but then i realised the same applies with lots of things.

i'm most phobic of moths and wasps i would say, but they're fairly common (if not irrational) phobias so they're not unusual. :)

an old friend of mine has that phobia too!
i remember when we were younger, i persuaded her to try and trick my little sisters into thinking shed been run over and died (yeah i know - we were weird  )
we made her lie down outside and liberally covered her in the stuff. needless to say the plot didnt work, because as soon as i got my sisters outside my mate was sick. so obviously was not dead :p tragic

ooh yeah, i just remembered - another mate of mine has a phobia of cotton wool. she wont go near the stuff. apparently its the noise that it makes when u rub it or something :eek2:

I'm scared of jelly. And generally food that doesn't know what it is. Jelly's the worst culprit though - I mean come on. Is it solid or liquid? And is it transparent or opaque? Tricksy stuff; I don't trust it AT ALL.

Some of those phobia's are really incredible! Personally I have a phobia of spiders and wasps. I seem to have developed a phobia of rollercoasters...I can't even see people on tv riding them without feeling tingly and nervous!

I am also pretty uncomfortable with walking past iron gating, the stuff that has the spikes on top, I don't know why but I always think someone is going to push my head into the spikes, through my eye, I have no idea why I think this would ever happen!
