New tax rates and donations to charity

You know how charities in many cases can claim gift aid back on donations.

Does this now mean that due to the lowering of the income tax rates, that charities who can claim gift aid back, no longet get 28p back for every £1 donated?

Seems to me on the face of things, all this tax cut has done, is hit low earners, made the high earners better off, and hurt charities too.

Anyone got any views or knowledge in and around this area?

A couple links here from Charities Aid foundation They say £70 million could be lost from gift aid. Seems like charites are going to have to either strongly promote gift aid and make sure they can claim it where they can or they could lose valuable funds, which is awful.
