[RANT]I need to photocopy, in colour, 17 A4 pictures. My college DOESN'T DO COLOUR COPYING and everywhere else charges £1 a copy. I CAN'T AFFORD THAT!!

I'm banging my head against a brick wall. The cheapest I've found is Staples who'll charge me £11.50 for the 17 copies.[/RANT]

have you got a scanner and colour printer?

Yes, but the amount I have to print doesn't warrant spending money on ink cartridges.

    Bugger.

Can you not scan it in and then print it of in colour at college?

your college would probably charge you about 50p per sheet colour if the offered it anyways, do they really have to be in colour?

you could scan them yourself, send the pics to your college computer account (if you have something like that), or just email them to yourself, and print them in colour at college perhaps?

Can you not get colour printing done anywhere? If you can scan it you may find colour printing cheaper.

My college don't provide any colour copying services. And they charge for colour printing too. Basically, my college suck.

And yeah, they have to be in paper form and in colour because they're for a history research project. (Hair and Makeup throughout the ages)

Lots of colleges and unis charge for printing.

You'll probably find colour printing is the cheapest way to do it, so your best bet will be to scan the stuff, cram as much onto each page as you can, even if it means cutting the pages up afterwards.

You could probably buy a cheap scanner for that and have free photocopying. Assuming you have a free printer. sigh.

We have a few scanners in the library but they are never working.

Also, the reason why I photocopy articles is because I can't take the journals out of the library so even if I did have a scanner, I wouldn't be able to use it.

Journals are just a money-making scam by unis, I'm sure of it.

We had free printing at uni, but only because our department had their own printers. Also I think we were the last year that got it for free. :D

My uni gave us £15 worth of print credits at the start of the year. I think I'm down to £12.35 or something like that. Although my uni course is more technical so we use projectors rather than printouts.

If it's any consolation- we offer photocopying and printing here, and we worked out that the cost of cartridges for home printers actually makes printing at home more costly than what copying shops charge you. That and the fact that you wont benefit from trade prices on paper, plus desk-top printers are very expensive when you consider how slow they are, and that compared to professional equipment, the quality is fairly rubbish. The bottom line is that colour printing = lots of dollar!
