Im slightly cook handy capped, but do I try and prepare food for myself. Im looking for advice on what ingredients I can add to simple foods such as Spaghetti Bolognase.

My cupboard consists of pepper (the rock type you grind) and tesco value "mixed dried herbs." What spices and flavourings should I be getting to make my food better

Go into the herby section of the supermarket and just look around. My current favourites are italian garlic, steakhouse pepper, pilau rice seasoning. Also for chillis I just buy a tube of chopped ones and then some tomato puree.

To add flavour to a Bolognase or a meat Chili red wine is always a winner,
I aslo add a few Scotch Bonnet chili peppers, a pinch of Oregano and some Corrianda powder too.

Fresh herbs all the way. You can buy thenm and put them in sealed bags in the freezer, and even frozen they are so much better than dried ones. And as Rachael says, if you can grow your own, even better.
