    My pets
    Photographs
A cuddle from my boyfriend just before we fall asleep

When a train murders a herd of swans that think the railway is a river, or something. That's a secondhand story from my flatmate, but it made me chuckle (a lot).

The way my guy staggers to the bathroom after I screw his brains out, as if his legs don't work...

A proper cuddle, that doesn't feel it's after anything more when I'm having a bad day.

    But these days:

    Seeing old friends
    Fresh bedlinen
Getting out into the countryside - big open skies, empty country roads etc
Watching Sunderland win (so a fair bit of :)ing at the moment)
    A nice cup of tea
Watching the bloke and his band perform
    Ma big belly
    My dog
Cracking the spine on a new book
    Popping bubblewrap
    Lazy lie-ins
    My other half
    Thinking about the future
Remembering all the good shit from the past

This is so overly stereotypical and drippy, but I agree nontheless.

When I had an hour between two lectures off, I just sat on the steps outside, put my face in the general direction of the sun and I think from squeezing your eyes shut (so the sun does not glare into your eyes), the smiling is almost necessary.

Mhmm. The warm sun on a not-so-warm day is even better...

the gluggy sound a wine bottle makes when you pour the first glass
    the smell of old bookshops
people who are passionate about someting, no matter how trivial
    naivety and innocence
    clean hair
    freshly cut grass
poetry that manages to pinpoint exactly what it means to
people who are totally uninhibited when hey're out (not in a 'i'm going to get pissed and hump that wall way, but more when someone who can't dance for shit just gets up and goes for it anyway)

It makes me so angry! I never crack the spines on my books, i did it on a cookery book last week and i felt really guilty about it. Gah.

Getting my books back that i've lent people and the spines being cracked is one of my pet hates.

Seeing someone get punched when they deserve it. I never laughed so much when Dion Dublin headbutted Robbie Savage.
Cheesy 80's tunes like the one off Rocky IV.
My dad and step-mum's wedding video we watched yesterday, and my sisters hair in it.
People who draw cartoons of people they're talking to without the person knowing.
Finding out that someone likes you.
    Pie.

I am not much of a smiley person on the outside but I smile inside a lot!

My dogs. However bad my day has been they always lift my mood!
Getting into a bed made with fresh linen.
Seeing people appreciate what I have done for them.
    Seeing my grandparents.
Knowing that I can have a nice long lie in.
    Snuggling up under the covers.
Cuddles. Proper cuddles though not those lame quick cuddles.

I thought cracking the spine over a new book was an phrase for being totally roped into a suspending book and since I wasn't sure anymore, I googled for it, and (beside interesting visual material) I found that:
To crack your spine or not to crack your spine -- that is the question. I always say that cracking your first spine is like losing your virginity -- it hurts like hell the first time (for most), but once you get over it, it's very satisfying. I completely respect people who will never crack their spines, or bend their books. But truthfully, if you are willing to crack your spines the scans will look much better. However, it is an individual choice, and the choice is yours to make. Personally, I'm just happy when anyone shares raw sample scans from their collection.

    wtf?

    That's odd.

Cracking the spine is where you take a paperback book and bend it back so that it'll fall open - instead of the spine of the book looking like new (as in a bookshop) with no 'lines' down the spine. Does that make sense?

Girls smiling at me in the street makes me smile.
My dog always makes me smile.
Pay day and Fridays are something to smile about.
And of course there's always MDMA.

It's great because it just lies open flat without you having to pin it down to read it. I guess I better not tell you that I write in them as well... with BIRO

Sitting around with my mates after a messy night out and talking/joking about what we got up to.
Hearing a really good song on the radio or in a club.
When someone is really pleased to see you and makes a big deal of it.
Countless songs that bring back good memories.
Receiving unexpected texts (good ones obviously).

Just thought of something else that makes me smile: getting into a bed with fresh linen when you've just shaved your legs... I don't know if its a bit perverse but it feels lovely :)
