DVLA have been pretty useless in answering my question and Google isn't helping, but I was informed for a under 125cc bike or under, the island I am on has a exemption where no CBT is needed, Phoned DVLA and the women couldn't even really answer my Question, Tried google, no luck, any way I could find out?

Ok, found this, but cannot find a list of the islands

    COMPULSORY BASIC TRAINING (CBT)

All learner motorcyclists and moped riders must complete CBT before riding on the road unless they
    * Passed a full moped test after 1 December 1990
    * Live and ride on specified offshore islands
    * Already hold a Certificate of Completion (DL196) obtained during a previous motorcycle entitlement or when riding a moped
    * Intend to ride a moped and passed the car tests before 1st Feb 2001

are there any motobike shops on the island that you could ask. Or maybe ring up the dva test centre at Brodick and hopefully they can answer your question.

DVLA test centre at brodick comes over once every 6months, they hire a hall out at the hotel I work at, I have a Theory booked there next month, but there is NOT a full test centre here.

councils should know, i'd try the district or county rather than parish, i think they tend to deal with roads etc more. police may also know.

    From http://www.thinkroadsafety.gov.uk

    Compulsory Basic Training (CBT)

CBT must be completed before riding on the road by all learners who are resident on mainland Great Britain, on islands that are connected to the mainland by a road, and on the following islands: Wight, North Uist, Lewis, South Uist, Harris, Benbecula, mainland Orkney and mainland Shetland. Residents of all other islands are exempt from the need to take CBT, but only if riding on roads which are on an exempted island.

Do you have a police station on the island?

Ask them, because they are the people who enforce things like this.
