Anyone got / want a tatoo?

When I'm 18 I'm gonna get a tatoo on the base of my spine; I think an angel or a rose would look real cool. Has anyone on this forum had a tatoo done? if so, does it hurt? My sisters friend had one done and said it was like a knife scraping slowly at ur skin... sort of put me off! lol. Also I'm curious, is anyone also thinking about getting one done like me?

If u can take the pain go 4 it.

as for the pain, i have a few really faint tattoos that i did myself, and they hurt, although i'd imagine it'd hurt more if it were done properly. but then again, i like pain, so i cant wait to get some.

I had one on the bottom of my spine, at the same time as my friend had one on the bottom of her spine. I thought mine quite hurt (but not unbearable) and she said hers hardly hurt. A couple of weeks later the same mate went to have another tattoo on her shoulder blade and she said it absolutely killed, she was nearly crying! I guess its your pain threshold or something I dunno.
any one got any ideas!????????

One pure mistake when I was 16, on the top of my right arm, a butterfly sitting on a luv heart - so not cool! Thinking about getting it covered!
On the base of my spine I have a the Cream symbol, this looks really awesome, everyone who see's it loves it! Caused a real stir at Creamfields!!
And on my side I have the Japanese symbol for love!
The Cream one hurt the most because it's the biggest!
Just go for it, what's a bit of pain!!!
Sex Drugs Rock & Roll, Speed & Weed & Birth Control!
I have two, one either side of the base of my spine. On the left is a baby dragon designed for me by a friend, on the right is my own name in my mother's Japanese handwriting. I love 'em both but hardly get to see 'em unless I'm in front of the mirror. The writing was put on first and was a breeze, hardly hurt at all. The dragon's a bit bigger and went over a few ribs which hurt to the point where I was sweating and grimacing quite a lot.
If you're thinking about one, get the design you want on a piece of paper and keep it for a few months. If by the end of that time you still like the design it's a pretty good indication that it's the one for you, if not, good job you didn't have it ripped into your skin.
Also try and find the best artist in the area, even if it means travelling a bit for it. The best artists usually have high prices, but it's worth it for the experience and cleanliness.
The other thing you have to decide is if you want people to see it. I got the one on my back because I was sick of having to take my trousers off for people to see my tattoo, even though I thought I'd want one that wasn't visible.
Semper ubi sub ubi
and please i beg you dont get a cartoon character or an oriental symbol. please no. no. no no no.
the real advice though is screw the tattoos and go for piercing instead, its quicker, easier, cheaper and the pain is relatively shortlived if you feel anything at all.
im up to 19 bits of metal now...im totally unemployable, lol, but hey im happy
A mate of mine used to fancy the local tatooist so she was always getting new tatoos just so she could go and see him.
She now has about ten tatoos which funnily enough really regrets and also she didn't get anywhere with the Tatooist - Doh!!

yeah they hurt but they are meaningful.Iam a welsh scorpio
No doubt most of you know that getting a tattoo involves the penetration of the skin.
As such, it's important to know that there are health risks such as the transmission of Hepatitis B.
It would be worthwhile you asking your tattooist whether they sterilise their instruments using a medical steriliser. If you have any doubts about the hygiene of their operation bail out and find someone else -(Just to be on the safe side.)

actually I know someone who really did get a pink elephant on her arse! she'll be regretting that one in 20 years...
if in doubt-dance.

I'd get either a huge one going all down my back like a collage.
Either that or I'd get a smaller one's on my biceps, back & shoulder.
they'd all be quite original designs, nothing too cheesy like chinese symbols or an eagle.
There's a latino guy in L.A. who does the best tattoos & has done tonnes of hip-hop guys.
I think I want a dragon just above my bum!!
But I'm gonna wait until I find the perfect design for me!
My b/friend has about six which look kinda cool.
But a bit of advice don't get the name of a partner as I know plenty of people who have done so and regret it.
