hayfever

im dying today, seriously i am. its probably one of the worst days all year.

i take fexofenadine tablets after having tried pretty much everything else on the market. clarityn was pretty effective for a while but its effectiveness wore off, so now im taking a fexofenadine every single day all year to stop the sneezing.

and when its really bad i have this beconase nasal inhaler. i cant stop sneezing, i made the mistake of spending about 45 mins with my long haired cats at abour 1pm, but i thought the effect would probably have decided to show up a little before 12 hrs later!! i even changed my clothes and went to sleep again after that. only as soon as i get to my friends house this evening, it gets worse and worse and worse until im now at the stage where i wanna chop off my nose, i cant breathe through it and im gonna get a massively dry throat overnight from breathing through my mouth. and my nose is all tingly and horrible. the back of my throat and the palate (sp?) of my mouth is killing me, i keep trying to scratch it with my tongue and not having much luck. ive got a stinking headache as i have had for the 6th evening running. i keep coughing which somehow makes my nose worse. wanna go and stick my head in a big block of ice and freeze it there.

just thought i should share that with you. sympathy and tissues to all you with hayfever, demonic curses on those of you free of it!!!!! now you know what you're missing.

if u go the doctor u can ask for a steroid injection - it's really good apparently and gets rid of it over night, but they are quite wary about giving it to you i think.

awwwww (((((emma))))) I know how you feel!...*sniff*

we all get hayfever. it's just some have to suffer more than others! in my physics exam the other day I suddenly realised I'd forgotten to take my pill (Zirtek, works veyr well, no sleepiness) and hey presto, I began sneezing. and sneezing. and sneezing it was so embarrassing! luckily I had two packs of tissues on me but I'm sure it'll make my result awful!

anyway. not much of a solution there I'm afraid! may tissues be forever with you when you feel the need to sneeze

i think id be wary of receiving it too! i mean steroids.. hmmm nice. my poor cousin's on loads of steroids and god knows what for his hayfever, he gets it like i used to, only all year round that bad. and also i kinda h8 injections

i used to take zirtek too, i cant rmemeber what was wrong with it lol but like i said, tried em all isnt it always the way, you realise youve forgotten your tablet and THEN you sneeze. grrrr.

i even took pulsatilla as well as my nasal spray and antihistamines and eyedrops for a few years. but i couldnt have mint so brushing your teeth became a nasty fennel experience

Yeh, me too. My eyes were watering so much last night it looked like I'd been crying really badly And yippee, it's morning again, another one of those crap times when it all starts again. Is it just me or does almost all day seem to be a 'bad time' for it? (maybe just when you're suffering it makes it worse!) *sniff sniff...sniff etc*

my hayfever's really random. its a LOT better than it used to be, i used to get those really bad days like i described an awful lot. now i get them at total random times. unfortunately im staying at my friend's hayfever-house tomorrow. its not as if she even has any animals! maybe its lavendar air freshener... i know that makes me really bad, that liquid one, with the fabric "wick" dipped into it, its AWFUL.

anyway tomorrow night think of me dying! with any luck ill be too drunk to notice...

I am a fellow sufferer as well. I don't know if any1 remember Triludan or something like that. It was the only pill or drug that completely worked for me and for many people as it was the leading hayfever drug. But it got banned because if some people mixed it with antibiotics it killed them. I think 6 people died over 9 years. I reckon they should have kept it on the market and let people have the choice to take 'em or not.

yeah i remember triludan, i used to have the FOUL medicine!! i cant remember what exactly it did to me, after a while tho i started getting bad side effects, think it was feeling sick or something like that. anyway it was horrible and my doc was a right bastard about it and said put up with the side effects or the hayfevef! so i went and got my own tablets from the chemist, and went back to a different one and asked for them on prescription.

Triludan never gave me any bad side effects. I work on a golf course and I suffer from hayfever. Getting through work at the mo is a struggle. My old dear had that steroid shot thing when she was 14 and never got hayfever agian. I might see about it next year.
