Have you had your 5 a day today?

The government recommends that you should be eating 5 pieces of fruit and veg a day to maintain good health. http://www.5aday.nhs.uk/
I always try to but there are days when I don't, I make up for it other days and have loads! If I go without any for a while, I crave them.

I've had mine already and no doubt I will have more with dinner.
Mine are so far:

Tomatoes
Raisins
Cranberry juice
Peas
Carrots

What you had?

    Let me have a think:

    Pineapple juice
    Raisins
Pasta with a tomato sauce made of tomatoes and onions
    Apple

And I'm about to have some more juice. I've also got a veggie lasagne tonight with salad- so I reckon I'm on track :)

Ive so far had a banana and orange juice. But waking up 2 hours ago means ive only eaten breakfast.

Just to point out, binging on fruit and veg is not adviced. Having 10 portions in one day will not make up for having 0 portions the previous day.

So far today I've had a grapefruit, a tomato and a carrot.

Planning a stirfry for dinner with peppers, onions, mushrooms and any other random things in the fridge!

I've had carrots and peas so far today.
Some days I do make an effort but other days ... not so much! Like Vicky though I make up for it on other days when I eat looooads of fruit and veg.

I'm not doing very good! I've had some salad in my sandwich but only about 4 leaves!

But yesterday I was awesome. I had an orange, a banana, apple and apricots in a crumble and vegetable pie with leeks, onions, carrots and parsnips in. That's gotta be 5

  • Former MemberFormer Member Posts: 1,876,323 The Mix Honorary Guru
Nah I haven't eaten or drank anything yet!
  • Former MemberFormer Member Posts: 1,876,323 The Mix Honorary Guru
ermm... I had half an onion (in some scrambled eggs), and a nectareen so far today.

later I'll have veg of sorts, which will either be a portion of mixed veg (about 2 portions of veg worth I suppose). or another onion in a curry or something. unless I make my own pasta sauce, which'll be onion + a tin of chopped tomatoes.

so I probably get 4 a day most days. it's a pain cooking for one and trying to include lots of ingredients, you end up with lots of half-things in the fridge.

I always have atleast one portion of fruit at lunch, and 2 portions of veg at dinner. I'd get more if I could be arsed to lug cartons of fruit juice all the way back from sainsbury's. they're just too heavy :p
