Stretch Marks

Whilst taking a bath today I noticed I'm getting more and more stretchmarks by the day <in true Bridget Jones' diary fashion> V.V.V. depressing... I was wondering what exactly they are, how they are caused (I know being *ahem* Stone doesn't help) and if there is anyway of hiding them or treating them.

i think there are some creams available, but they do fade to like a silvery invisible colour which is hardly noticable, in time.

There's a girl in my mirror
I wonder who she is
Sometimes I think I know her
Sometimes I really wish I did
Thanks drifter <IMG alt="image" alt="image" SRC="http://www.thesite.org/ubb/biggrin.gif"> I guess I can always pretend they are tattoos, or scars.. I've had stretchmarks before, just never so many as I have right now, nor any on my stomache, I better learn to live with them..lol many thanks

I have stretch marks on under my armpits, on the outer sides of my chest, on the insides and back of my arms and on the insides of my legs. These appeared about a few years after i started weight training (i gained about 3 1/2 stone!).
They will fade in time but wont go away altogether. Dont worry about em though, i dont!
They're caused by the change in hormones during puberty (and pregnancy, not that that's going to be a cause in your case eh Luk?).
They fade or disappear over a period of several years and although there are creams available they don't really have any effect.
Hope that helped you to stop worrying about them!
